Contents

[edit] Rotate by Degrees

Under the Edit > Transform menu, there are three options that allow you to rotate your image by a certain number of degrees. You can rotate by 180 or 90 degrees, and if you wish to rotate by 90 degrees you have the option of going clockwise (CW) or counterclockwise (CCW).

Ensure that you have the right layer or object selected, and then click the appropriate menu item to rotate your image.

[edit] Rotate with Free Transform

Under the Edit menu there is a Free Transform item. This feature allows you to make a number of transformations using the one tool. Click on this menu item and your layer or object will be surrounded by a bounding box with handles. When you play the cursor near the corners of the item or layer, it will change into a curved, double-headed arrow. This indicates that the cursor is in rotate mode - hold the mouse button down and drag to rotate.

[edit] Rotate with Transform Option

Under the Edit > Transform menu is a Rotate option that works much like the Free Transform option, but it only rotates—none of the other features of the Free Transform tool are present. Once you click on this menu option, the bounding box will appear and you’ll be able to click and drag to rotate the image. You can also move the handle in the center of your image to change the axis of the rotation.
