[edit] Changing the Units of Measure for Rulers

Open up the Preferences panel and left click on Units & Rulers. You can select the desired units for the rulers from the drop down menu. You have the following options; Pixels, inches, centimeters, millimeters, points, picas and percent.

To see the rulers on your document, click on View in the menu and then make sure that Rulers is ticked (If not, click on it ;)
